Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, heat olive oil, and sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  • Add beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat if needed.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix well.
  • Add basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir.
  • Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes to meld flavors and thicken.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
